IRD E-Mail Scam

We want to make you aware of the latest scam that is currently doing the rounds but growing in momentum …

so much so that the IRD has issued an URGENT warning. This scam seems to be far more sophisticated than those previous that we have seen.

Here is the statement from the IRD ..

There is a sophisticated phishing scam running at the moment informing people that they have a tax refund waiting for them from IRD and they need to update their financial information in order to receive their refund.

The email address is listed as Inland Revenue Department, yet it is sent from IRDxxxxx@s1.nzr.review.

This email comes with an attachment called TaxReturn.HTM which is a fraudulent form designed to collect your personal and credit card data. Please DO NOT click on the form.

If you have clicked on the form and submitted any personal or credit card data please contact your bank immediately. We also recommend you contact IDcare at www.idcare.org or phone 0800 201 415.
