7 April Tax coming up

Terminal Tax due 7 April ..

.. and the emailing of the payment reminder letters has started and will be completed by Monday next week. This is for the tax on the 2021 tax year.
If you have tax to pay on 7 April and don’t receive an email, first check your Spam/Junk email folder to see if it is there and if it is not, then contact us.

There is no payment date extension so the IRD are still expecting the payment to be made.
However they are accepting instalment arrangements to repay the debt BUT these need to be applied for as soon as possible. If you have an approved instalment arrangement, and have been effected by COVID, then any interest and penalties will be written off once the debt has been fully paid.

Setting up an instalment arrangement
To setup an instalment arrangement, you need to login and make application through your myIR account. BUT before you make an arrangement, if you have been effected by COVID, you need to advise the IRD.

So to advise IRD, from within myIR and the main dashboard you will click on I want to… then under the heading COVID-19 support you will click on Notify of impact by COVID-19 – read the declaration, tick the box if it applies and then click submit. This notification needs to be done by 31 March 2022 at the latest.
To make a formal instalment arrangement for repayment of the tax,  again under the I want… you will come down to the heading Payments, refunds and returns and click on Request an instalment arrangement. then follow through the screens and questions.

In some circumstances we are able to do this on your behalf.

If you have any questions, unsure on whether you have a payment or not or can’t setup an instalment arrangement please don’t hesitate to contact us.
