Just when we were ..

trucking along and had this COVID living thing under control, while looking across the Tasman and to Fiji seeing COVID raging out of control .. along came Tuesday nights announcement that gave us all the reality check that this thing is a long way off to being under control. Now we watch as NZ cases continue to grow.

With that, came the announcements of the financial resources that have been made available which are listed below

Wage Subsidy
More information about a new Wage Subsidy for employers and self-employed people throughout New Zealand will be available today. Here is the link to the website.

Resurgence Support Payment
The Resurgence Support Payment (RSP) is for businesses or organisations with reduced revenue due to a COVID alert level increase to level 2 or higher. This will be available from next Tuesday 24 August. Learn more about eligibility and which businesses can apply for this support.

Short-term Absence Payment
This is available for businesses, including self-employed people, to help pay employees who cannot work from home while they wait for a COVID-19 test result. You can claim a one-off payment of $350 for each eligible employee. Find out how to apply here.

Leave Support Scheme
For employees, and self-employed, who have to self-isolate but cannot work from home, this scheme ensures they’ll still receive some income during self-isolation. For eligibility criteria and how to apply see here.
