1. you must have experienced at least a 30% decline in revenue due to the alert level; and
2. the period to measure the decline in revenue is on or after 8 September and then is compared to a 7 day continuous period that starts and ends in the 6 weeks prior to 17 August 2021
3. Revenue is defined as “how you normally earn your income” so for a cafe it is likely to be daily takings. However for a service/trade business the calculation will be based on chargeable hours & materials not necessarily on invoiced amounts (so more detailed calculations will be required).
4. the calculations must be done retrospectively and be based on actual results and not forecasts

Like previous applications. there are different rules for start-ups, seasonal businesses and commonly owned groups and records need to be kept to substantiate the claim.

So, for those that have been at Level 2 and trading, I am picking the likelihood of eligibility for this assistance is low. Remember if you can trade but are choosing (or chose) not to open, then you are automatically excluded from being eligible.
